Istiwak Clock, Sundial at Surakarta

If you are visiting Surakata, take the time to visit Agung Keraton Kasunanan Surakarta Hadiningrat Mosque to look at a real and functioning sundial, known to the locals as Istiwak Clock. The locals used this clock to determine when to pray during day time before there were proper analog or digital clocks. Sometimes even now, the locals still use the clock for the same purpose, even though they can easily use an analog or digital clock.
